HOW TO SAVE YOUR TRANSPORTATION COST
There are various kinds of transportation facilities in Japan. What is the best transport option to get your destinations? (¥100=£0.65, $0.95 in 2018)

Tokyo: Train â—Ž, Bus â—¯, Taxi â–³
If you have not decided where to go, I recommend you to buy "Pasmo" or "Suica" (¥500 deposit) which needs to be top up when you ran out of the top up money. They are also available for the buses. If you want to travel around Tokyo in a day, there are many options to buy "1 Day pass" for trains. Taxi is always expensive so not recommend much.

Tokyo to Kyoto: Bullet train â—Ž, Night bus â—¯
Bullet train is expensive though, it will be a great travel memory. There are 3 different trains depends on how fast they are. The fastest one is Nozomi, take 2.5 hours to get there. Hikari takes 3 hours and the slowest one Kodama takes 4 hours. The cost is not very different (all of them are about ¥14000) so you should book as soon as possible because Nozomi sold out fast.
Night bus is less than 1/3 price of bullet trains, average ¥4000. However, takes 7 hours to get there. If you have time and would like to save money, it is a good option.

Kyoto: Train â—¯, Bus â—Ž, Taxi â–³
As Kyoto is more touristic place than Tokyo, it is much easier to access the historical sites by buses. Should buy the 1 day bus ticket which is able to be used everywhere inside of Kyoto.
1 Day Bus ticket - Adult: ¥600/ Child: ¥300
Kyoto to Osaka: Trainâ—Ž
Kyoto station to Osaka station takes 40min by JR Kyoto line (¥560). To Dotonbori, whose nearest station is Nanba, will take 20 min by Osaka station.
